Useful.

Until a real person starts talking.

Someone tells you: "I'm anxious about my daughter." You think fear. Then she tells you that her daughter is 26, perfectly capable of managing her own life, but she calls her five times a day to check whether she has eaten.

Is the centre of the problem fear? Attachment? Over-concern? Difficulty letting go? Something else?

Another person says: "I'm exhausted." One person has genuinely reached the end of their reserves. Another has enough energy once they get started, but spends the entire morning feeling that beginning is impossible. Another keeps carrying everyone because stopping feels irresponsible. All three can call themselves tired. They do not necessarily need the same remedy.

That is where Bach Flower Remedies become much more interesting than a list of 38 definitions.

If you are completely new to Bach

You do not have to know
the remedy names before joining.

The Bach system was developed by Dr Edward Bach and consists of 38 flower remedies associated with different emotional states and ways of responding to life. The system itself is quite accessible. You can begin learning the remedies fairly quickly. The difficulty appears when you start applying them. Because people rarely describe themselves in the language of a textbook.

They say:

"I get irritated with everyone now." "I don't know what has happened to me. I have no energy." "I know I should leave, but I keep changing my mind." "Nothing is wrong. I just feel something bad is going to happen." "I can say no at work. I just cannot say no to my mother." "I have forgiven him. I simply don't want to see him ever again."

This course begins with the 38 remedies and gradually trains you to hear these sentences differently.

You may be coming from very different places

You do not all need
the same entry point.

Perhaps somebody prescribed Bach for you and you became curious.
Perhaps you use Reiki, Tarot, coaching, counselling or another modality and want to understand Bach properly. Or perhaps emotional patterns simply interest you. No previous Bach knowledge is required.
Start with Foundation or Comprehensive
You know the broad indications. You recognise many remedies.
But when three remedies seem to fit the same person, you are not always sure which one should take priority. You may keep opening the book to confirm your selection. This is where deeper comparison and case work become useful.
Comprehensive is usually the strongest route
Your problem is no longer remembering remedies.
You want to become sharper about what you are hearing. You want to distinguish similar states, understand layered cases, improve your consultations and know why you are choosing one remedy over another.
Advanced — speak with us before enrolling
Suppose somebody says

The first word is
where the question begins.

Anger
"I'm angry all the time."

Holly? Perhaps. But there is still very little information.

Is he angry because people keep disappointing him? Does he feel badly treated? Is the anger actually resentment that has been accumulating for years? Does he feel jealous? Does he suddenly lose control and frighten himself? Is he constantly correcting everyone because things have to be done his way? Or is this someone who never expresses anger and has finally reached a point where it is spilling out everywhere?

The word anger has not given us the remedy. It has given us somewhere to begin asking questions.

Difficulty saying no
"I can't say no."

Centaury may immediately come to mind. Now continue the conversation.

She has no problem refusing colleagues. She has no problem arguing with her husband. She has very strong opinions. But every time her father asks her to do something, she agrees — even when she is furious afterwards.

Now the picture is different. This is what we practise in the course. You learn the remedy. Then you learn to stop forcing the person into the remedy description.

Fear
"I'm worried about tomorrow's interview. I have barely slept."

Mimulus looks reasonable. Then he tells you: "The interview itself is fine. I know I can do the job. I keep imagining what my father will say if I fail again."

Now what are you listening to? Fear? Confidence? Judgement? Failure? An older emotional pattern? One additional sentence can change the case.

A child
"My child suddenly refuses to go to school."

Before looking for a remedy, what would you want to know? When did it begin? What happens in the morning? Does the child become frightened, angry, silent or clingy? Is there a particular teacher? A classmate? An exam? A change at home? Something embarrassing that happened once and was never spoken about?

The behaviour is visible. The emotional state still needs to be understood.

If you are new to Bach, you are not supposed to know the answers yet. What matters is noticing that remedy selection cannot begin and end with the first word somebody uses.

What students have said
"I had to take a break but did not have to refer to any book or notes once I restarted."
Thanks to you I am able to understand Bach Flower Remedies. I had already done a course earlier but it was just at surface level. But with you, I can say that I am able to understand each remedy deeply. With you I have learnt how to catch the underlying emotion. And the way you teach, with examples and asking questions, I had to take a break but did not have to refer to any book or notes once I restarted. I am really happy that I am doing this course with you.

"This seemingly simple world of just 38 remedies carries within itself a beautiful interplay of emotions."
Thank you so much for this well structured, well taught Bach remedies course. As a novice struggling with whether to pronounce Bach or Bakh, your course opened new dimensions for me. This seemingly simple world of just 38 remedies carries within itself a beautiful interplay of emotions and Sir you taught me to not just know about the remedies superficially but to go deep and understand the nuances of emotions. Besides I found your notes to be well structured and easy to understand. Not to forget your willingness and capability to clear all my doubts. I know I have been a very curious student. Thank you again for this beautiful journey Sir.

This is the part of Bach I find most interesting

I will keep asking you:
Why that remedy?

A book can teach you what Mimulus means. A chart can help you remember the difference between Olive and Hornbeam. I still use reference material. There is nothing wrong with that.

But books cannot hear the conversation with you. They cannot stop you halfway and ask: Why did you choose that remedy? They cannot give you one more detail about the case and ask whether you still believe your first answer. They cannot show you that five students heard the same sentence in five different ways.

That is why I teach Bach through questions, comparisons and cases. I want you to know the remedy definitions. I also want you to understand what made you choose one.

During a class, I may give you a case and ask what you would prescribe. You answer Oak. I may ask why. Someone else says Olive. Another person notices Elm. Then I give you one more piece of information. Perhaps everyone changes their answer.

That discussion is useful. Because Bach Flower work does not become clearer by memorising more adjectives. It becomes clearer when you begin recognising what is central in the person and what is merely surrounding it.

Over time you start asking better questions. You become less eager to select a remedy too quickly. You notice contradictions. You hear what someone keeps repeating. You also notice what they casually say once and then move away from. That is often where a case becomes interesting.

What you actually learn

The Bach system remains
the foundation. The Advanced programme widens the lens.

You first learn the remedies, the emotional states, the basic selection process and the distinctions. Only then does the programme widen into deeper case work, psychosomatic applications and additional lenses. Foundation and the first part of Advanced are the core. The later sections are the Advanced programme's breadth — kept expandable below so you can see the scope without being overwhelmed by it.

A
Foundation
Learn the Bach system from the beginning
  • Dr Edward Bach and the philosophy behind the system — the 12 Healers, 7 Helpers, Second 19 and Rescue Remedy
  • All 38 Bach Flower Remedies and the emotional states associated with each
  • The seven traditional remedy groups
  • How the same state may appear differently in different people
  • Differences between remedies that can look similar on the surface
  • Basic remedy selection, preparation and usage
  • Combinations — how to begin narrowing rather than adding
  • Beginning case work, children and common everyday situations
B
Advanced
Remedy differentiation and consultation thinking
  • Commonly confused remedy states and the questions that help separate them
  • Mixed emotional states, layered presentations and how to decide what is central
  • How many remedies to select — and what to ask when two seem equally plausible
  • Longer personal stories, follow-up consultations, changing a combination as the picture changes
  • Children and pets
  • Case discussions throughout
  • 20+ pages of useful remedy combinations as reference material — to support thinking, not replace it
C
Emotional Pattern Applications
+
  • Childhood emotional patterns, burnout, perfectionism, codependency, self-sabotage
  • Financial stress, victimhood, emotional weight patterns
  • Wounded feminine and masculine patterns
  • Emotional blocks, stress, trauma-related emotional material, ADHD-related patterns
  • Shadow work and inner-child work alongside Bach states

These are explored as patterns rather than ready-made formulas. A perfectionist does not automatically need one particular remedy. You still have to understand the individual.

D
Bach Flower Remedies and Psychosomatics
+
  • Psychosomatic application across more than 30 physical conditions
  • Two people with the same diagnosis may have completely different emotional lives — we look beyond the disease name to the person carrying it
  • What was happening in their life? What has been suppressed? What do they repeatedly tolerate? What happens when they need something?
  • Topical application and other practical formats within the scope taught
E
Additional Integrative Lenses
+

Once the Bach foundation and remedy-selection process are clear, the Advanced programme also introduces other frameworks I have studied and use alongside the remedies where relevant. They do not replace accurate recognition of the Bach state. They offer additional ways of looking at the person, the pattern or the situation.

  • Chakra work alongside the seven Bach emotional groups, including age-based correlations
  • The 12 Healers and zodiac correlations as a symbolic framework
  • Numerology — life-path numbers and personal years as a lens for recurring tendencies
  • Human Vibrational Resonance (HVR) — an energetic framework for exploring emotional states as different vibrational qualities, including shifts such as fear towards courage, confusion towards clarity, despair towards hope and fatigue towards vitality
  • Sanskrit mantras and selected Vedic concepts: trigunas, doshas, koshas and emotional karma
  • Switchwords, moon rituals and crystals as additional integrations
F
Practical Applications
+
  • Consultation structure and case-taking
  • Follow-up and changing a combination over time
  • Sprays, roll-ons, chocolates and other application formats
  • Children and pets in practical situations
  • How to combine different approaches without losing the Bach state underneath them
A reasonable question

"But Bach Flower Remedies
can be learnt from a ₹500 book."

Yes. You can buy a good Bach book for ₹500. You can probably find the broad indications of all 38 remedies free online. I would never suggest that you need a ₹30,000 course merely to access that information.

What you are paying for here is a different kind of learning. Imagine reading that Centaury is for people who find it difficult to say no. That takes a few minutes. Now sit with someone who says, "Yes, I do too much for everyone." Centaury seems obvious. Then she spends the next twenty minutes telling you how she controls almost everything at home, has no difficulty confronting her husband and regularly refuses people at work.

The original answer needs another look. That second part is where live learning helps. Someone can question your interpretation. A case can unfold. You can see why one remedy looked right at first and why another became more relevant later.

The information is cheap. Application takes practice.
Why I keep the course live

Because the useful learning
usually happens after the first answer.

The Comprehensive Programme currently runs over 15 live online sessions of approximately two hours each. The sessions are recorded, so you can revisit them. But the recording is not the main programme. The value of the live class is the conversation.

Someone asks a question you had not thought of. Another student interprets the case differently. I add one sentence and suddenly the whole class sees the person another way. You are not only learning from my answer. You are watching how an answer is reached.

You are also learning alongside other students. Two students can hear exactly the same case and notice completely different things. One may think of a remedy you had not considered. Another may ask the question that changes everybody's understanding. That discussion matters because remedy selection is not learnt only by being told the answer.

There is also a WhatsApp learning group so questions and course-related discussion can continue between sessions.

Who usually joins

There is no
single type of student.

Some people come because they have personally experienced Bach Flower Remedies and become curious about how they work. Some already practise Reiki, coaching, Tarot, counselling or another modality and want another way of understanding emotional states. Some have already learnt Bach and are frustrated that every case still sends them back to a book. Some want to use Bach with family and friends. Some intend eventually to work with people. And some simply enjoy understanding human behaviour and emotions.

You do not have to decide today what you will eventually do with the learning. You can begin because you want to understand the system properly.

If what you actually want is help for yourself

Then you probably do not need this course. If you are currently struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, fear, anger, exhaustion or another personal situation and mainly want somebody to help identify remedies for you, Soulvyom also offers individual Bach Flower consultations. That is a much smaller commitment.

About Abhinav Sharma
Photo — Abhinav Sharma
Lt Col Abhinav Sharma, SM (Retd)
23 Years · Sena Medal · Indian Army
Founder, Somashadow · Bach Flower Remedies Practitioner · Shadow Work Practitioner

Bach Flower Remedies were one of my serious entry points into emotional work. Initially, like most people, I learnt the remedies through their descriptions. Then I started working with people. The descriptions were still correct. People were simply more complicated.

Someone who looked like Centaury in one relationship behaved completely differently elsewhere. A person saying they were exhausted could be depleted, overwhelmed, over-responsible or simply unable to begin. An angry person could be carrying resentment, hurt, jealousy, loss of control or years of swallowed irritation.

That moved my interest increasingly towards the distinctions. What is this person actually saying? What are they not saying? Which part of the story are we giving too much importance to? Why this remedy? What would make us change our mind?

Over the last six years and more than 150 cases, this is the part that has held my attention the most. What I kept observing alongside it was that emotional states and physical symptoms sometimes shifted together. That curiosity eventually led me into psychosomatics and shadow work — and into Somashadow. But Bach remained the system through which I first learnt to ask the right questions.

That is how I practise and that is how I teach.

Yes. The programme is conducted live online and can be attended from India or internationally, subject to the course schedule and payment availability.
Is the course live or recorded?+
The sessions are taught live. Recordings are also provided to enrolled students so you can revisit them. The live sessions are the main programme — the recordings are for revision.
How long is the Comprehensive Programme?+
The current Comprehensive Programme consists of approximately 15 live sessions of around two hours each.
Do I receive notes?+
Yes. Comprehensive students receive two PDF manuals — one for Foundation and one for Advanced.
Do I receive a certificate?+
Yes. A Soulvyom Certificate of Completion is issued on completion of the relevant programme. This is a Soulvyom certificate and does not represent Bach Centre accreditation.
Is Soulvyom affiliated with the Bach Centre?+
No. This is an independently developed educational programme offered by Soulvyom. The Soulvyom Certificate of Completion does not imply Bach Centre accreditation.
Can I join Advanced if I studied Bach somewhere else?+
Possibly. Advanced assumes that you already have a working understanding of all 38 remedies. Please enquire before enrolling and we can see whether Advanced is the appropriate route.
Will I learn how to start a Bach Flower practice?+
The programme teaches Bach Flower Remedies, case understanding, remedy selection and the applications described on this page. It does not teach marketing, sales or practice-building.
Can I study only for myself?+
Yes. There is no requirement to practise professionally. If your primary requirement is immediate personal support rather than learning the system, an individual consultation would probably make more sense.
Are children and pets covered?+
Yes. These are included in both Foundation (basic situations) and the Advanced curriculum (deeper case work).
Are EMI options available?+
Yes. Payment and EMI options are available through Razorpay and eligible credit cards. Availability depends on your payment method, card and bank at checkout.

The next time someone says
"I'm anxious," you may
hear more than anxiety.

You may wonder whether the fear is specific or vague. Whether confidence has gone. Whether another person's judgement is sitting underneath it. And instead of immediately searching for a remedy, you may ask one more question. That is the kind of learning this course is built around.
